Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS presented by Circle K Enhances Sustainability Initiatives
JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS presented by Circle K is excited to announce enhanced sustainability efforts for the upcoming tournament Sept. 30-Oct. 6, 2024, reflecting our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement. Together with our title sponsor Constellation, the nation’s largest provider of carbon-free energy and a leader in clean energy solutions, and in collaboration with our partners, we are implementing innovative practices to ensure a greener tournament experience. This year’s event promises to elevate the experience for attendees with an array of golf, family, business and other social and entertainment options, including a special concert performance by the acclaimed country music duo Brothers Osborne.
“We are thrilled to host another great tournament and to showcase our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and smart energy management,” said Jim McHugh, Chief Commercial Officer, Constellation. “By incorporating sustainability-driven solutions on the course and engaging fans on energy conservation, we aim to inspire the Jacksonville community and beyond to take proactive steps toward a cleaner future. Together, we can drive positive change and ensure a more sustainable world for generations to come.”
Innovations at the Tournament Venue: The host site, Timuquana Country Club, features advancements such as a new irrigation system, LED lighting, electric vehicle charging stations, and an expansion of native planting, which significantly reduce the venue’s environmental footprint. The introduction of the NanoOxygen System in the pumphouse also ensures better water quality, aligning with our goal of sustainability.
Sustainable Partnerships for a Greener Tomorrow: Constellation, as part of its mission to accelerate the transition to a carbon-free future, is dedicated to minimizing environmental impact by promoting energy efficiency, carbon tracking, and emissions offsets. These initiatives are a core component of their efforts to support businesses in achieving sustainability and carbon reduction goals.
Engaging the Community in Sustainable Practices: The tournament encourages community involvement through initiatives like the Green Team, made up of local students who promote recycling and educate attendees on sustainability. Additionally, Constellation’s Power Putt fan activation offers fans a chance to learn about emissions-free energy sources.
Eco-Friendly Fan Experiences: To reduce waste, the tournament has introduced 100% recyclable metal cups and refillable water stations across the venue. Solar-powered charging stations are available for fans to use, ensuring that even mobile connectivity at the tournament is powered sustainably.
Comprehensive Waste Management: In partnership with Sunshine Organics & Compost, all paper products used during the tournament are BPI Certified Compostable, and we employ hybrid generators that cut fuel consumption by up to 40%, further reducing our carbon emissions.
Dedication to Long-Term Environmental Impact: These efforts are part of a broader commitment by the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS presented by Circle K to not only provide an engaging and fun tournament experience but also to leave a positive, lasting impact on the environment and our community.
