TacoLu returns to the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS for the third straight year and will once again provide great tacos and margaritas. TacoLu opened in 2008 in a little building on Beach Boulevard and has gained a life of its own (and quite an extensive Tequila list in the process). After five years in the original location, with an unbelievable amount of patronage and support, the Lu grew into its current building, the site of the old Homestead Restaurant, which has so much history and excitement attached to it. TacoLu has been a great supporter of the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation and we are excited to have them back. |
Publix Tailgate Village food trucks (located between the 17th and 18th holes):
Mamas Food is an Argentinian inspired mobile food truck founded in 2013 ! An OG truck here in Jax. We’ve mixed some traditional flavors, and spices to make empanadas, quesadillas, and bowls that will make your mouth water. Our Chimichurri is one of a kind, and served with many of our entrees! |
Since 2014, Mother Truckin Pizza has been serving authentic New York style pizza with a Southern twist. Options include craft-style jumbo slices and toasted subs featuring classic and unique pizza flavors such as buffalo chicken, white pesto mushroom and jalapeño popper. |
In addition to the food truck experience, BUBBA burger will be available for diners at the Publix Tailgate Village (and at all concession stands onsite), featuring a variety of craft burgers including the “Jim Burger.” Publix will also have their food truck featuring ice cream samples from 11am – 4 pm each day.
A number of beverage options will also be available for fans in the Publix Tailgate Village. Signature cocktails from Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Hendrick’s Gin will be poured for spirit lovers. COMPETITION: The Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS is once again attracting some of the top talent on PGA TOUR Champions, as defending champion Steve Stricker, Stephen Ames, and Steven Alker have all committed to the event. These three “Steves” are currently ranked 1, 3, and 5 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings and have combined for 10 victories so far in 2023.
Half of the 10 wins from this group belong to Charles Schwab Cup points leader Stricker, including three of this year’s five PGA TOUR Champions majors (Regions Tradition, Senior PGA Championship, Kaulig Companies Championship). It’s an impressive encore to a 2022 season that saw him win four times on PGA TOUR Champions, including the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS. Over the course of his career, the 56-year-old Stricker has racked up 16 wins on PGA TOUR Champions, 12 PGA TOUR victories, and captained the 2017 U.S. Presidents Cup and 2021 U.S. Ryder Cup teams to convincing wins. There’s no doubt he’ll be the favorite to win again at Timuquana Country Club in October.
After a successful PGA TOUR career that saw him win four times, including the 2006 PLAYERS Championship, the 59-year-old Ames has earned six more victories since joining PGA TOUR Champions. The Canadian snapped a two-year winless drought in a big way this season by taking home four titles and rising to third in the Charles Schwab Cup standings. Given his form throughout 2023, Ames seems likely to better last year’s T25 result at the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS.
Alker won the Charles Schwab Cup last year on the strength of four victories and currently sits fifth in this year’s standings. The 52-year-old Kiwi’s win at the Insperity Invitational earlier this year was his sixth career PGA TOUR Champions title – he has won at least one tournament each year since becoming eligible for PGA TOUR Champions in 2021. Alker recorded a T7 finish at the inaugural Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS and will look to improve on that result in his return to Timuquana Country Club.
